We have followed up the very bright fast radio burst FRB180309 with the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory. The radio observations started less than 7 hours after the event. We also reanalysed 4 hours of archival data of the field in which the burst was reported, taken between 2013 and a few days before the event. Both analyses allow us to put constraints on the radio afterglow emission and previous outbursts.
